IDEA GENERATION/REASERCH

SILHOUETTES
Before finalising any sketches, I decide dot do some silhouette drawings just to get a better idea on what I wanted to go for.

Further research

After looking further into angel/angelic creatures, I have noticed a common pattern in all of their designs. I noticed that , they all seem to be some sort of humanoid creature or have a human feature to them . which is another reason why i would consider having a feature of my character human-like.
workshops

During one of the workshops in class, I learned how to create a horn for my character. not only that , I also managed to learn how to convert that horn made with a Zsphere into a brush that allowed me to insert many of them onto a single model. I also learned how to texture the horn using the skin mesh and the textures available on zbrush.
Further advanced sketches/ some changes

After some careful consideration, I decided that I would scrap the initial face design I did for my character and decide to do a more angelic face design so it could be somewhat of an indicator as to what type of creature my character is.
I also thought this would be a good idea as when id di further research into angel creatures they seemed to have a similar pattern where they had at least one human-like feature. I also thought about how I could make my character look more human-like from my initial designs of it so making the face more angelic was a good way to go in my opinion.
Sculpting
To help me with sculpting the feet of my character, I used the sketches I had down at the beginning of the project where I did an anatomy study on animal legs/feet as a reference for my sculpting of the legs/feet..

Using my final design sketch I based the modelling and sculpting of the body from that . While adding additional features and tweaking it a bit on the way.

I decided to sculpt the spine like this because I felt like the model didn’t really have nay obvious creature like features except for things like the wings, legs and horns so I thought adding some extra features would make it look a lot better . I also think it fits well with the wings as well.
Texture/material references
For references I used this specific hand reference for when I was modelling/sculpting because I wanted to achieve a creature looking hand which was bony and had veins. The reference I used was from an artist on Art Station called Daniar Joldoshbek. The image below shoes the hand sculpting i did and the reference I used which you can see the similarities.

Its not a perfect match as id dint have enough time to add smaller details but there are some similarities such as the knuckles and the boniness of the hands.
Feedback
I thought the best way to get different types of feedback on my model would eb to post it for the public to see. so , I decided to post my model on my Instagram art account and see what people think . I asked the question “what could I improve on my 3D model?” and these were the responses.
This feedback way extremely helpful as I feel like if I went and asked for feedback from my friends or peers I feel as though they wouldn’t of been as harsh . and when it comes to feedback I would much rather it be harsh and honest feedback so i know exactly what I could of improved on or changed.
